Cano paces women’s golf in first place finish

Taylor Boydstun Staff Writer The Troy women’s golf team claimed their third team victory of the season in the three-day Rebel Intercollegiate tournament over the weekend at the Ole Miss Golf Course. The Trojans’ 17-stroke victory in the tournament, which wrapped up Sunday Apr. 3, marked the team’s last regular-season event before heading to the Sun Belt Tournament. Women’s tennis routs Alabama A&M, 6-1

Taylor Boydstun Staff Writer The Troy women’s tennis team won its last home match of the 2016 season on Saturday, April 2, at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. The Trojans (11-5) defeated Alabama A&M 6-1. Though the Trojans came off a tough loss to South Alabama last week at home, they bounced back to earn an impressive win. The victory marked the team’s seventh win of its last eight matches played. Women’s golf ties for eighth at Kiawah Island

Taylor Boydstun Staff Writer Troy University’s women’s golf team traveled to South Carolina and tied for eighth place among 41 teams in the Kiawah Island Spring Classic. Women’s tennis topples rival UAB, 5-2

Ty Ammons Staff Writer The Troy University women’s tennis team won its matchup against UAB 5-2. The Trojans’ (6-3) win against the in-state rival came at home on Saturday, Feb. 27. Troy’s line one doubles, sophomore Jiayuan Xue, put up a good fight in her match against junior Pardis Kianoush, but came up short. Xue lost the match 7-6, 4-6, 1-0.
