Scott McLendon Staff Writer A portion of the Troy track and field team finished in third at the Bill Carson Invitational at East Carolina University, while more Trojans competed in events at the Tiger Classic in Auburn, Alabama. The Trojans earned a third-place finish at ECU, behind a first-place performance by the men in the 4×100 relay event and a first-place showing from junior Zach Douglas in the shot put event. The Trojans’ throwers once again were the leaders for Troy in the event, which featured nationally-ranked men and women’s teams from the SEC, ACC and Big Ten. Scott McLendon Staff Writer A trio of Trojans competed in the heptathlon hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the Louisiana Classic on Friday, March 25. Gemma Finch, from Newbury, United Kingdom, earned a fifth-place finish in the heptathlon. The freshman finished six points short of fourth place overall.
