Track team splits up and does well in two states

Gabe Sadetsky Staff Writer  This past weekend, April 11-12, saw Troy’s track and field team split up and head to two different meets in two different states. The Trojans, not faltered by the separation,  each took home a first place finish in an event at both the Spec Towns National Team Invitational in Athens, Ga., and the University of South Alabama Invitational in Mobile. Track team places well at the Tiger Track Classic

Gabe Sadetsky Staff Writer    Troy’s track and field team had another great performance during the second and final day of at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn this past Saturday, April 5. Troy saw several Trojans reach the best times of the season along with one new school record. Freshman Corina Cox saw her conference-leading discus stats grow even stronger, as she finished second place with a 48.99-meter throw. Troy track team shines at Alabama Relays

Gabe Sadetsky  Staff Writer    The Troy track team finished their final day of the Alabama Relays with a strong showing this past Saturday, March 22, in Tuscaloosa. The meet, which began on Thursday, March 20, earned several Trojans outstanding achievements while increasing the team’s national rankings as a whole. Track team prepares for Sun Belt Conference Championships

Wally Pendergrass Staff Writer   The track and field team finished up its schedule leading to the Sun Belt Conference Championships this past weekend at the Samford Multi and Invitational. Several Trojans posted solid results and broke into the conference standings for certain events. Three Trojans found their way into the conference standings based on their results from the weekend. Track team performs well at TSU Invitational

Wally Pendergrass Staff Writer   The Trojan track team put in a good performance on Saturday, Feb. 1, in Nashville, Tenn. Several Trojan women posted season-best results in the meet. In the 1-mile run sophomore Julia Ostendorf finished eighth with a time of 5:21.79, which was her best time of the season.  Freshman Sara Lane ran the event in 5:32.12, which earned her nineteenth place. Troy Track Cares

Soles4Souls is an organization that collects shoes and distributes them to those in need. The idea began back in 2004 after Southeast Asia was ravaged by a tsunami that left countless people without simple things like shoes.
