Volleyball hires new head coach

Scott Watkins Staff Writer After a nearly two-month-long national coaching search, Troy has announced the hiring of a new volleyball head coach in Josh Lauer. The hiring comes after 11-year Head Coach Sonny Kirkpatrick resigned his position on Nov. 15 following a 10-23 season. Officially hired on Jan. 12, Lauer comes to Troy after spending the last six years as an associate head coach at Georgia. Volleyball shuts out ULM on the road

Scott Watkins Staff Writer The Troy Trojan volleyball team made a trip to the Bayou State for a pair of road games last weekend, winning and losing each by three sets. The Trojans (9-22, 3-11 Sun Belt) fell to Louisiana-Lafayette in the first of two weekend matches, playing a competitive three sets. Trojan volleyball picks up second SBC victory

Scott Watkins Staff Writer The Trojan volleyball team played its final home matches in Trojan Arena last weekend, winning Friday and losing Saturday. Friday night’s 3-2 win over Appalachian State marked the first time that the Trojans (8-21, 2-10 Sun Belt) have ever defeated the Mountaineers in volleyball.
