Cano leads women’s golf to 10th-place finish in Kennesaw

Michael Shipma Sports Editor The Troy women’s golf team started in 13th place but climbed a few spots to finish 10th at the Hennsler Financial Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The three-round tournament, hosted by Kennesaw State, featured 12 top-100 teams, including the No. 91 Trojans. They were led by Fátima Cano, whose strong second round propelled her into a tie for fourth in the individual standings. Women’s golf takes home fifth in Augusta

Wesley Kirchharr Staff Writer The Troy women’s golf team brought home a fifth place finish from the 3M Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Georgia during the weekend. The Trojans fell 15 shots behind No. 23 Purdue, who took the top spot, but topped many other prestigious programs such as Ole Miss and Virginia Tech. It shot a collective 59-over 923, scoring 307-303-313 over the course of a competitive three rounds of play.
