Wally Pendergrass Staff Writer  The women’s golf team surged up the leaderboard on the final day of the JU Classic to grab second place, while the men’s golf team finished fourth in a rain-shortened AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic on Monday, Oct. 13. The women went into the final day, Tuesday, Oct. 14, in sixth place. The team shot a 297 on the final day to climb up the leaderboard and finish   second. Women’s golf team wins tournament; men’s golf takes third at Invitational

Wally Pendergrass Staff Writer Both the men’s and women’s golf teams had success over the weekend, with the women’s team winning the Chris Banister Golf Classic on Tuesday, Sept. 30, and the men’s team placing third at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational on Monday, Sept. 29. The women’s team won the tournament by 16 strokes, shooting a 900 as a team for the event. Troy’s women’s golf team wins the Sun Belt Conference Championship

Gabe Sadetsky Staff Writer   The Troy women’s golf team won the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Championship, the first in the school’s Division I history, last Wednesday, April 16, at the Steelwood Country Club in Loxley. The victory has given the Trojans an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, which begins May 8, and will take place in one of three regional locations. Wally Pendergrass Staff Writer    The women’s golf team earned third place after wrapping up things at the Eagle’s Landing Country Club in the Lady Panther Intercollegiate. The Trojans were in second after the first day and slipped one spot and finished up the tournament on Tuesday, April 1. Troy shot 34 ahead of UALR and had 51 shots ahead of league rival South Alabama. The women finished tied for eighth at the 3M Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate in Augusta, Ga., while the men finished tied for fifth at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla.
