Cano nabs individual title, earns sixth at Henssler Intercollegiate

Thomas Gleaton Chief Copy Editor With the help of Fátima Cano’s fourth individual title this season, the Troy women’s golf team finished sixth at the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate on March 28-29. In her win, Cano beat out Gabby Barker from Texas Tech, the nation’s No. 4 player at the time. Cano did tie, though, with Barker’s teammate Lauren Mason and Augusta’s Josefine Nyqvist. Women’s tennis continues to roll with win over App State

With the victory, the Trojans (10-4, 2-0) have won five of their last six matches, their only loss to South Florida earlier this month. Sophomore Jiayuan Xue lost to sophomore Jessica Cortes Chaves in line one singles 6-0, 6-3. Sophomore Efriliya Herlina went down in line four singles to freshman Vanja Klaric, 6-0, 6-1. Women’s tennis topples rival UAB, 5-2

Ty Ammons Staff Writer The Troy University women’s tennis team won its matchup against UAB 5-2. The Trojans’ (6-3) win against the in-state rival came at home on Saturday, Feb. 27. Troy’s line one doubles, sophomore Jiayuan Xue, put up a good fight in her match against junior Pardis Kianoush, but came up short. Xue lost the match 7-6, 4-6, 1-0. Troy tennis wraps up its fall season in Orlando

The first day at the tournament went well for the Trojans, as they lost only three matches. Troy brought a total of 10 players to the tournament.
