Troy football’s originally scheduled home opener against the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe has been postponed after a COVID outbreak among the ULM players. Two dead, three injured after Saturday morning shooting

Emma Daniel Editor-in-chief Two people are dead and three others injured after a shooting at the Pike County Cattlemen’s Complex around 2 a.m. Saturday, according to Troy Police. Police officers were dispatched to help disperse a large crowd, but while they were on the way, shots were fired, according to a police statement issued Saturday morning. First case of COVID-19 found in dorm

Emma Daniel Editor-In-Chief One student in Trojan Village 100 has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the university. The university was made aware of the first on-campus case on Tuesday, Aug. 11. The student has been quarantined off campus, and the three other students living in the same dorm are currently in isolation inside the suite. None of the other residents in the suite have displayed symptoms, but they will be tested for COVID-19 at the student health center in the next three to five days, according to university relations.…

Masks and social distancing required

Tomiwa Akintode Staff Writer   As Troy University’s campus sets to reopen on Wednesday, the school begins the safety protocols which were announced in an email earlier in April. These protocols include compulsory face masks worn in places on campus where social distancing cannot be maintained, such as classrooms, dorms and laboratories. The Troy Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information Center states that these face coverings are not required in personal environments or places where physical distancing can be achieved. Legacy of Rep. John Lewis honored at memorial

Troy University was the first stop of six memorials before Lewis is honored at the Capitol.
