Golf places 10th in Sun Belt Championship

The tournament was held at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.  The Trojans’ opening round landed them in 7th place on the first day of the tournament. The Trojans were tied with South Alabama with a team score of 300. Seniors Shaelee Scarberry and Elisabeth Preus helped drive the Trojans by scoring in the top 20 for day one. Women’s Golf place 3rd in GSU Invitational

The team was able to finish in third place out of 16 teams at the Rivermont Country Club in Johns Creek, Georgia.  The Trojans had a successful first day on the course and had two players shoot under par. Men’s and Women’s golf are on a roll

by Logan Pittman The Troy men’s and women’s golf teams had a busy week over spring break with the men participating in the Seminole Intercollegiate and the women participating in the Bama Beach Bash.  The men wrapped up the Seminole Intercollegiate with a total score of 895, which was good enough for a fourth-place tie with Indiana.  Leading the Trojans was Jake Springer, who finished in a tie for 10th place with a score of 221. The tournament was hosted at the Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington, Louisiana.  On Monday, the first day of competition, seniors ShaeLee Scarberry and Elisabeth Preus continued their strong starts to the spring season.  Scarberry’s score of 4-under 67 was the fifth-lowest round in school history and the lowest score by any of the other golfers on the day, scoring 10 birdies over two rounds. Troy finishes strong at Spring Break Shootout

Kennedy Roy Sports Editor The Troy women’s golf team posted the second-lowest tally of Tuesday’s final round at the Spring Break Shootout.  As a team, the Trojans moved up into 5th place while Shaelee Scarberry moved up to a tie for 4th.  The Trojans ended the tournament with 38 birdies collectively along with carding 11 birdies.  Scarberry individually shot 1-over par and Elizabeth Preus shot even par on the day.
