Tennis heads to Sun Belt Conference Tournament

The Trojans competed against Coastal Carolina Friday, where they were beaten 6-1.  The Trojans allowed Coastal Carolina to take the upper hand throughout much of the day. Coastal Carolina took over the singles matches, beating Maria Guirguis, Franziska Ahrend, Valeria Aveedva and Andrea Wilding. Trojans extend win streak

by Harrison Glackmeyer The Troy women’s tennis team took home two victories this past week during matches held at the Lunsford Sports Complex in Troy, Alabama,  against Texas State and Louisiana.  The Trojans started Sunday morning off against Texas State. The Trojans were able to successfully beat Texas State 5-2.  The Trojans had incredible performances from singles Kristina Kukaras, and Amin Hagar. Kukuras beat Kiana Graham from Texas State 6-2, 6-4 gaining a point for the Trojans. Hagar followed closely behind beating her opponent 6-0, 7-5 for a Trojan team point. …

Trojans win over The Herd

The matches were held at the Trojans Lunsford sports complex where they have a 5-4 record for the 2022-23 season.  The Trojans started the weekend off on Saturday morning playing against App State, entering the weekend with two-match winning streak for the season.  The morning started with Troy in the lead after earning the doubles point. Tennis begins conference play

by Caleb Thomas As tennis season kicks into gear, both the men’s and women’s tennis teams began Sun Belt Conference play.  In matches against JMU and Old Dominion, the Trojan men went 1-1, bringing their overall record to 13-3.  A tight showdown against the Dukes was decided by just the doubles point, with Troy winning 4-3 after the singles matches were split. Troy dominates in tennis

The men’s tennis program is on an eight-match winning streak and the women’s tennis program has reached its first ever 3-0 start to a season. The men’s tennis team responded after a season-opening loss to Miami with wins over eight straight opponents.
