Troy put on a dominating performance in the South Florida Invitational with seven first-place performances, three second-place performances and four third-place performances.

Javon Osbourne finished at the top of the leaderboard for men’s shot put and discus. Osbourne and his teammate Anthony Symile went against each other in, not one, but two competitions in discus and shot put.

In the end, Symile had to settle for second and third as his final throw in discus landed 51.65m while Osbourne hit 58.47m to claim the first-place position. In the shot-put event, Osbourne threw for 17.49m while Symile finished with 15.78. Tristan Boatman claimed the fifth spot with a 15.09m throw.

On the women’s side, Shanyah Washington placed first in the 100m. She beat Halutie Hor of Coppin State by 0.10 seconds to win heat one with a time of 11.56. After the 100m, she joined fellow teammates Naveyh Frost, Kierra Montgomery, and Maya Kelly as they placed third in the women’s 4x100m relay.

Troy gets to relax for a week between events as the team travels to Birmingham, Alabama Friday for the Samford Invite. The Trojans have just four more track meets before the Sun Belt Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
