Football releases schedule for upcoming season

Wesley Kirchharr Staff Writer Following many scheduling changes in the college football landscape due to the pandemic, Troy Football has finalized its 2020 football schedule as the season fast approaches. The revised 12-game schedule has slated six home games, the first of which is a conference opener against Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 5. After cancelations shook the original Troy Football schedule, Director of Athletics Brent Jones announced an updated 2020 football schedule on Thursday. “I am very pleased how the schedule came together as we lost all four of our non-conference games,” Jones said. “The last three weeks have been extremely grueling; however, we intend to play football this fall.” The schedule features six home games, six road games and three new opponents: BYU, Middle Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky. Trojans bounce back from loss, defeat Akron on the road

Scott Shelton Staff Writer The Troy Trojans defeated the Akron Zips 35-7 on Saturday at InfoCision Stadium in Akron, Ohio, in the team’s first road game of the season. With the win, the Trojans move to 2-1 on the season before entering Sun Belt Conference play next Saturday. From the first drive of the game, the Trojans took control.
