Jill Odom Sports Editor The men’s golf team finished up the Sun Belt Championship in fifth place after dropping from second place during the final round on Monday, April 21. The No. 55 Trojans traveled to Miramar Beach, Florida, to compete for the conference title at the Raven Golf Course. Among the competitors were No. 43 Georgia Southern and No. 62 Georgia State. Troy traveled to Mobile on Thursday, April 10, and competed against 16 teams, including Sun Belt rivals South Alabama, UL Lafayette and Arkansas State. Sophomores Aleeah Stigarll and Riley Schwietz got things started for the Trojans on Thursday. Jill Odom Sports Editor Troy’s softball team bounced back from its recent losses against Texas State and defeated Florida A&M 2-0 on Tuesday, April 14. Although Troy’s win streak was broken in the Texas State series, the Trojans were quick to redeem themselves. Junior pitcher Ashley Rainey picked up her 10th win of the season and pitched a complete shutout. She allowed only four hits and one walk.
