Dylan Hurst Staff Writer The Troy men’s golf team improved over the course of the three-day Intercollegiate at the Grove to finish eighth out of 12 teams earlier this week. The Trojans travelled to College Grove, Tennessee, to the Middle Tennessee-hosted tournament which took place from Sunday to Tuesday. They climbed two spots after the first round of play thanks to a strong second round, finishing with a combined score of 37 shots over par. Dylan Hurst Contributor The Troy men’s golf team finished 11th out of 12 teams after the third and final round of play Tuesday in the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate held in Birmingham. The team faced some tough competition over the weekend, with 10 teams being ranked in the top 100 last season. One of those teams was the eventual tournament winner, Wake Forest. Dylan Hurst Contributor Over the weekend, the Troy men’s golf team opened its season with a dead-last finish among 15 teams at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, an annual tournament held at The Farm golf course in Rocky Face, Georgia.
