Scott McLendon Staff Writer The Trojan cross country teams christened the 2016 season with a first-place finish for the men and second place for the women in Dothan on Saturday, Sept. 24. The Trojan XC Invitational, which featured two men’s teams and three women’s teams, was Troy’s first home competition of the year. Soccer wins, draws first two SBC games

Scott McLendon Staff Writer The Troy soccer team snapped its winless streak in a pair of weekend home games, defeating Appalachian State and playing a draw against Arkansas State. After going four games without a win, the Trojans (5-4-2, 1-0-1 Sun Belt) returned to the Troy Soccer Complex and cruised to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Mountaineers (5-5, 0-2 Sun Belt). Scott McLendon Staff Writer The Troy soccer team has now gone four games without a win as it played a 0-0 draw at Mercer on Friday, Sept. 9, and lost at Florida State 1-0 on Sunday, Sept. 11. The traveling Trojans (4-4-1, 0-0 Sun Belt) put up stalwart defensive performances over the course of both games, allowing 24 total shots—only five on target and just one beating the keeper.
