Hanna Cooper Editor-In-Chief For the second consecutive season, Troy Softball was picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches’ Poll while Katie Webb, Leanna Johnson, Kelly Horne and Katie Lively were tabbed members of the all-conference team, the league announced Monday. Softball rolls in fall home opener

Daniel Hunt Staff Writer The long-anticipated start to the 2018 softball season kicked off on Saturday with two Trojan victories against Northwest Florida State at home.  In the first game of the doubleheader, both teams struggled out of the gate.  In the third inning, Northwest Florida State would face nine total Trojan hitters. Michael Shipma Sports Editor The Troy softball team struggled over the weekend, falling to No. 4 UL-Lafayette in three straight games but bouncing back to defeat Kennesaw State in a doubleheader. The Trojans struggled to generate any offense against the Ragin’ Cajuns, scoring only one run in the series. UL-Lafayette, on the other hand, had no trouble, scoring at least eight runs in each of the three games.
