After falling to South Alabama in the Sun Belt Conference tournament, the Trojans’ hopes at a NCAA Tournament bid were slim. But a 22-7 regular-season record was impressive enough to make the NIT. Dylan Hurst Staff Writer The Trojans struggled against Texas State’s defense as they fell 58-44 on Thursday night in Sun Belt Conference action in Trojan Arena. The Trojans made only 15-of-50 shots (30 percent) from the field but held the Bobcats to just 6-of-20 (30 percent) from the field.  Senior Alex Hicks led the Trojans with 13 points alongside eight boards while fellow senior BJ Miller recorded seven points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists. Dylan Hurst Staff Writer The Troy men’s basketball team couldn’t overcome a first-half deficit and fell 68-52 against Sun Belt Conference rival South Alabama in the Trojan Arena Saturday evening.  The Trojans had problems with their shots from behind the arc, only making 6-of-22 (27 percent) after attempting to adapt to the Jaguars’ zone defense.  Senior Alex Hicks recorded a double-double and a season-high of 21 points alongside 13 boards during the game.
