Football releases schedule for upcoming season

The revised 12-game schedule has slated six home games, the first of which is a conference opener against Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 5. After cancelations shook the original Troy Football schedule, Director of Athletics Brent Jones announced an updated 2020 football schedule on Thursday. “I am very pleased how the schedule came together as we lost all four of our non-conference games,” Jones said. “The last three weeks have been extremely grueling; however, we intend to play football this fall.” The schedule features six home games, six road games and three new opponents: BYU, Middle Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky. Several cases of COVID-19 found within Troy Athletics

Wesley Kirchharr Staff Writer Troy University Athletic Director Brent Jones and Head Football Coach Chip Lindsey said there are several confirmed cases of COVID-19 within Troy Athletics during a virtual press conference Thursday morning. Jones stated the difficulty in determining a specific number of cases due to the rapidly changing situation, but he confirmed both staff and players had contracted the virus, but said they were asymptomatic.
