Hanna Cooper Staff Writer The Troy softball team wrapped up its last weekend of tournaments before entering conference play this past weekend.  The Trojans finished the weekend 4-1 with their only loss coming from No. 13 South Carolina.  Troy’s offense recorded 22 hits to take a pair of wins Friday afternoon at Eddie C. Softball tops ‘Nova, falls to Auburn

Hanna Cooper Staff Writer The Troy softball team traveled to Auburn to participate in the Tiger Invitational last weekend. Troy finished the trip  3-2 after losing in extra innings to North Dakota State and falling to No. 21 Auburn.  On opening day of play, Troy downed Eastern Illinois, 3-0, before dropping an extra inning heartbreaker to North Dakota State, 3-2. Mizzou stops clean sweep; Softball wins four of five games in Lake Buena Vista

Hanna Cooper Staff Writer The Troy softball team traveled to Orlando, Florida to take part in the Diamond 9 Classic. In Orlando, Troy squared off against Stetson, Missouri, UMass, LIU Brooklyn and Saint Joseph’s.  On opening day of the tournament, Troy downed Stetson, 14-0, before falling to Missouri, 6-0, in the second game of the day.  Annie Willis threw a one-hitter to lead Troy past Stetson. Hanna Cooper Staff Writer The Trojan softball team opened its 2019 campaign by hosting Murray State, Maryland and Alabama in the Trojan Classic. Hanna Cooper Staff Writer After a win over the defending national champions, the Florida State Seminoles, Troy softball came back home for the Geaux Teal game versus Mississippi State in honor of Alex Wilcox.  Troy started freshman Leanna Johnson in the circle. Johnson is a Brantley, AL native who attended high school with Alex Wilcox.
