Michael Shipma Staff Writer The Troy women’s golf team opened up its spring season with a 16th-place finish out of 17 teams at The Dickson tournament hosted by Houston on Tuesday. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played from Monday to Tuesday, but rain caused both of Monday’s rounds to be cancelled. Troy faced a talented field of competition as eight of the teams were ranked in the top 50 nationally. Dylan Hurst Staff Writer The Troy women’s golf team rebounded from its low finish in its last tournament to finish fifth in a field of 11 teams at the Idle Hour Collegiate on Monday and Tuesday. The Trojans finished just 21 shots behind the hosts, Mercer, which took the top spot in the tournament at a total of 43 shots over par. Playing against a field of almost all Power Five teams, Troy shot a collective 56 shots over par, 22 shots behind ninth-placing Kansas State. Dylan Hurst Staff Writer The Troy women’s golf team opened its season with a fifth-place overall finish in the USA Intercollegiate held at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course in Mobile. The women’s team is made up of juniors Bianca Lohbauer, Sarah Harrison, Lindsey Harrison, Antonia Poate, Bria Jansen and Abby Parks, along with freshmen Eva Fabricius-Bjerre and Kailey Powell.
