Alabama Legislature passes bill for draft beer, sends to governor

Logan Horton, 21, a junior history education major from Grove Hill, enjoys a beer at Sips on the Square. On Thursday, March 20, the Alabama Senate and the House of Representatives passed a bill allowing draft beer to be sold in Pike County. The bill now needs to be signed by Governor Robert Bentley. If Governor Bentley signs the bill, it will be up to each municipality to vote on allowing draft beer to be sold on-site in restaurants and bars, in each ordinance. Troy council members say they are looking to hopefully start sales in late-April.
