by Caleb Thomas Junior Makayia Hallmon pushed Troy University’s Women’s Basketball team into first-place in the Sun Belt Conference, pouring in 14 points and 19 points in the Trojans’ respective wins against University of South Alabama and Georgia Southern. Troy dominated its opponents to improve to 8-2 in conference play (13-8 overall), outscoring arch rival South Alabama 81-62 and Georgia Southern 100-77. Wrestling club coming to Troy

by Harrison Glackmeyer Troy Wrestling club held its first interest meeting this past week at the campus Recreational center. The club is new to the campus and was created by head coach Nicholas Gelsosomo, a junior general business major from Chicago, Illinois, and Gunnar Gartner, the assistant coach for the new club and an intern in Troy’s athletics department.  Gelsosomo has been wrestling for fun since the age of four. The Trojans only had two players in double digits in Saturday’s matchup against the Jaguars. Christyon Eugene ended the game with 17 points, 15 scored in the second half. Ja’Mia Hollings makes history against South

Intramural season is here

by Taylor Fraze Intramural basketball began this past week, giving non-student-athletes an opportunity to participate in competitive sports.  Basketball is split into men’s competitive, women’s competitive, and co-rec teams with more than 10 teams participating in each section. This is a rise in popularity from last season where there were far fewer teams registered.
