Softball sweeps UT Arlington

Hanna Cooper Editor-In-Chief For just the second time in program history, and the first time in Arlington, Texas, the Troy softball team swept UT Arlington during the opening weekend of conference play.  Leanna Johnson surpassed the 500 career strikeouts milestone en route to a shutout win over UT Arlington, 5-0, before Troy utilized timely offensive bursts to down the Mavericks and take the series, 4-1, Saturday at Allan Saxe Field.  Needing seven strikeouts to top the 500 mark, Johnson fanned 10 Mavericks to become the second Trojan in program history…

Trojans set to take on no. 2 seed Texas A&M

Tanner Colvin Sports Writer The Trojan women’s basketball team is heading to the NCAA Tournament next Monday. This will be the fourth appearance in the tournament for Troy and the third time the Trojans have made the tourney with Head Coach Chanda Rigby. This Monday, the Trojans drew to play the Number 2 seed Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament. The Trojans were elevated past the Bears after a free kick foal from Alisa Detlefsen to Kate Eubanks. Sophomore goalkeeper Gaby Cosette also had a major impact with six saves.
