Troy was battered with severe weather for a second Sunday in a row, knocking down trees and leaving many without power last night.
No injuries have been reported in Pike County, according to Mayor Jason Reeves.
Reeves also said “several hundred” are still without power, as of Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham is currently sending out surveying teams to assess the damage and confirm any tornadic activity.
Large trees were knocked down on campus near Sorrell Chapel, and many trees have fallen in neighborhoods around Troy, some causing damage to homes.
Social media reports also showed damage at Walt’s Gym on South Three Notch Street.
