Panic! At the Disco, an alternative pop rock band, has officially disbanded after an announcement made by lead singer, Brendon Urie, on January 24.
Beginning in Las Vegas, Nevada, Panic! At the Disco consisted of Urie and high school classmates Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson. It was not long until they created their debut album, A Fever you can’t sweat out in 2005.However, the original band members slowly left the band, until in 2016 when the band dissolved a solo project led by Urie. Panic! At the isco went on to release their last three studio albums, Death of a Bachelor (2015), Pray for the Wicked(2018), and Viva Las Vengeance (2022).
On January 24 2023, Urie released a statement announcing the end of the band. Urie hopes to put more focus on his family life with a new addition to the family on the way.
“Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way.” Urie wrote
“But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon!” Urie wrote “The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting.
I look forward to this next adventure.”
Panic! At the Disco will officially end after its Viva Las Vengeance Tour in Europe, which will conclude on March 10, 2023 in Manchester, England.
“Thank you all for your immense support over the years. I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us.” Urie wrote,
“Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you.
