With a variety of prizes offered for grabs, students were able to join the Troy University Activities Council (UAC) for a night of bingo.
"I really enjoyed it with my friends," said Elijah Turman, a junior computer science major from Huntsville, Alabama. "It's important for students to come to these events because it allows a more sociable environment for them to be in."
Throughout the night, students were able to connect with fellow Trojans while listening to the numbers and letters being called.
Each round of bingo was different. One round would be regular, where a student would have to get five in a row across, diagonal or up and down.
The other rounds would be to get a blackout, where a student would have to cover the whole board.
"The bingo night was both fun and hectic," said Jamie Parker, the secretary of the UAC who is a sophomore nursing major from Millbrook, Alabama.
"We had a larger turnout than expected, which was fantastic."
"The setup process was kind of easy since we used the top of the dining hall, where there were already plenty of tables and chairs available.
After the lucky student shouted "bingo," they were able to collect a prize out of the variety of prizes laid out.
By the end of the night, the atmosphere was still lighthearted as some students left with a prize while others left empty handed.
"The suspense and atmosphere during these events are always amazing," said Jordan
Frye, a sophomore electronics engineering major from Monroeville, Alabama. "As an introvert myself, I believe it helps students to get out of their comfort zone and spread their wings a little when playing games like these."
"It's really important for students to come out to these kinds of events because they offer a great opportunity to unwind and socialize after a long day," Parker said.
"Getting out, having fun and meeting new people is something everyone should try to do."
UAC holds free events for students every Wednesday. To say-up-to-date with their events, follow their Instagram @ troyuac.
