Head coach Skylar Meade added two new additions to his 2025 class. The Trojans signed outfielder Zaid Diaz and catcher Jabe Boroff to the team this past week.

Diaz transfers in from Chipola College in Florida. The right-handed batter had a .294 batting average last season for Chipola while raking in 36 RBIs. The sophomore ranked as the eighth outfielder in Florida in the 2023 recruiting class.

“We truly feel that Zaid is one of the best hitters in junior college baseball,” said Meade in an interview with Troy Athletics. “He can hit for power, low swing and miss and he really has an advanced approach.

“He is a super kid who will fit in immediately with his teammates here in Troy.”

Troy also added another local piece by bringing in Enterprise State transfer Jabe Boroff. The catcher was named to the All-ACCC Division II First Team after hitting .445 with eight homers and 42 RBIs his freshman season. Boroff is hailed as one of the best hitters in all of junior college baseball.

“Last season Jabe put some of the most preposterous numbers in the country,” Meade said. “He is committed to being great, and his improvements are stark to us as coaches.

“What really sold us was the development he has made defensively both behind the plate and on the corner at third base.”

Diaz and Boroff both join the Trojans for the 2025-26 academic year.
