Baseball is not worth your time to watch

TAKE ME OUT . . . TO THE BALLGAME?

Baseball is boring and confusing. Now, don’t get me wrong, it has its perks every now and then, but overall, it’s questionable as to why you should even bother watching it.

Think about football and basketball for a second. While these two sports can be confusing for someone, you are still guaranteed some action at some point in the game.

When an aggressive tackle happens, the football team shares that raging momentum on the sideline. When a foul is called in basketball, the crowd and coaches get mad at the referees.

When one-handed catches happen on the field, or when a slam dunk on the court happens with just a few seconds remaining in the game (buzzer beater), everyone is yelling and standing up.

What does baseball do?

In my experience and from other’s stories, there is hardly anything to celebrate when watching a baseball game, unless that team is actually good. I don’t hear grandma and grandpa yelling to the top of their lungs when a player makes a good play, or maybe that’s because the cameras don’t show them.

Players in the dugout just lean on the fence, or wall, when their teammates are out on the field, only paying attention if they actually have a chance. Of course, this specifically can be in reference to any sport. However, the sports I have seen on screens and in-person show the players paying attention to what’s happening on the field or court regardless of the chances.

Some of you reading this know exactly what I am talking about and which sports I am referring to.

Also, let’s acknowledge the fact of how slow this sport is. Sitting three hours for a game that has no consistent runs and decent plays is crazy. The only thing baseball is consistent with is getting outs. I give credit to those who can sit through games like these and actually enjoy it because I would much rather waste my time watching something else that actually has something going on.

Now, there is one exciting thing to look forward to when watching a baseball game, and that’s watching the coach get angry at umpires. I mean, talk about the aggression and emotion that suddenly enters the game when we see a head couch walking to the field while screaming their heads off to an umpire for calling a wrong play.

Then, the best part of it all, the head coach gets kicked out and has to leave the premises.

I’m tearing up just thinking about it . . . NOT. After that, it’s just back to a regular game.

All in all, baseball is most definitely not the sport for me to watch, but I will support it from a very long distance.
