“Battlefield 1” is the newest title in the Battlefield video game franchise to be released on Oct. 21, 2016, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
It is an action, first-person shooter that takes place during World War 1 that features a new story and multiplayer gameplay.
In early May, the game was announced for release by its developer EA DICE. Since its announcement, the game has received massive amounts of attention from new players and fans alike.
So far, “Battlefield 1” has presented itself to potentially be an exciting and engaging game that will be well worth the purchase. A great deal of released information about the gameplay has been consistently increasing the game’s popularity.
The game’s story mode is not a typical linear tale, but a collection of several different stories. Each story revolves around a different character in a different country during various points during World War 1.
Despite being called “Battlefield 1,” the game is actually the fifteenth game in the series. The “1” in the title is referring to the fact that it takes place during World War 1.
Earlier this September, a beta version of the game’s multiplayer was released on consoles for a limited time. It featured one map and only a handful of weapons, but it did showcase the available character classes, and just how competitive and chaotic the gameplay can get.
As usual for shooting-games like “Battlefield 1,” the developers have made sure to release gameplay footage of many of the weapons available in the game. All guns that were presented have been impressive, but most people seem to be especially excited for the combat shovel that is featured in the game.
During the beta, the game performed well in making the players’ experience as realistic as possible. Players could clearly tell when their characters were bleeding or that they were out-of-breath from realistic audio simulating heavy breathing.
It cannot be denied that the game is getting its fair share of attention, but some people have made it clear that they don’t really care for this iteration of the franchise. Some people honestly see the game as a rehashing of the previous iterations, similar to the “Call of Duty” franchise.
“Battlefield 1” will have a decent amount of content to keep its players busy, but only for so long. Typically, players will get bored with it after a couple of months and move it to their shelves, just like other games of the genre.
“Battlefield 1” appears to be a solid game so far, and definitely will be a common purchase for people who enjoy games like it. The game will be available for physical purchase at participating retailers and online Friday, Oct. 21.
