With Homecoming approaching, The Tropolitan has decided to answer a question that has plagued the minds of Trojans: what does a gameday look like for T-Roy?
Now, you may be saying to yourself, “T-Roy goes to all the football games, we see him almost every weekend!” To that we ask, do you know the full story?
What does T-Roy do when he’s not on the field? What does he do before and after the game?
At long last, these questions have been answered; Tropolitan writer Adele Henley has followed him around all season (not in a creepy way, we promise) and learned of his gameday routine, just in time to share it with the world for Homecoming. Join Henley as she shares her experiences alongside T-Roy:
Firstly, T-Roy starts the day by ensuring he looks and feels his best: he gets up bright and early to get ready, eating a good breakfast. T-Roy states that he can’t go to a football game without the energy he needs!
T-Roy’s hearty breakfast includes whole wheat toast with cardinal red strawberry jam, eggs with cheese and ham, and a delicious-looking fruit smoothie. From the looks of it, he puts blueberries, strawberries, bananas and orange slices in his smoothie. I’ve dubbed it the T-Roy Twist.
After breakfast, T-Roy gets dressed and ready to go. He packs everything he’ll need for the game, mainly water and snacks – it’s a long day at the Vet, so staying hydrated is important!
T-Roy adds that he also packs everything he uses to cheer on the Trojans. All of his signs hyping up the team, the cheerleaders, and The Sound of the South are placed neatly in T-Roy’s bag. Of course, he can’t forget his trusty Trojan sword!
As T-Roy makes his way to the stadium, he has that signature smile on his face. When asked about it, T-Roy exclaimed that he is always optimistic for a Trojan win. He meets with the team to get ready for the Trojan Walk at Tailgate Terrace.
I noticed T-Roy stretching and taking a lot of deep breaths, it looks like even T-Roy gets nervous sometimes!
As our beloved Trojan makes his way to the field, the football game is fast approaching. T-Roy states he is always excited to get into the game, and he loves seeing all the Trojans in the student section!
Once the game starts, we all see T-Roy doing what he does best, cheering on our team and the school we love.
At halftime, T-Roy takes a much-needed break, just like the team. I don’t blame him, it’s hard work out there as he runs around hyping up the Trojans! But once halftime is over, it’s back to work.
After the game, T-Roy heads home. He looks fondly at the memories he’s made during the game. Each game is different, so there’s always something new to experience!
Once he’s home, T-Roy winds down by doing self-care. Each time, it seems to be something different. Sometimes, he’ll watch a movie, other nights he’ll play a video game, and sometimes, he makes an at-home spa to relax.
The day after the game is always a day of relaxation for T-Roy, getting some much-needed rest and taking it easy.
After spending some time with T-Roy, I learned that he isn’t all that different from you and me, and in a way, that’s amazing. At the end of the day, we’re all Trojans, and T-Roy is no different.
