Five Trojans were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team following the conclusion of the 2024 regular season.

Student-athletes under consideration for the award must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and either appear in 90% of the school’s games or start in 66% of games. Troy’s nominees will also be eligible for the Academic All-America team, which is announced on Jan. 28.

KC Bradford, Landon Parker, Peyton Higgins, Caleb Chappelle and Tyler Cappi were all named to the All-District team earlier this month.

As a safety for Troy, Bradford started 11 out of 12 games on special teams, playing 95 total snaps. The homegrown talent has earned playing time after walking on as a freshman in 2023.

Bradford has a perfect 4.0 GPA and is a global business management major.

Parker appeared in all 12 games for Troy as a senior wide receiver. The Concord, North Carolina, native reeled in 27 passes for 350 yards in 2024, starting in 10 games.

Heading into the fall semester, Parker had a 3.64 GPA.

In the 2024 season, Higgins started every single game for the Trojans. The wideout posted 27 receptions for 301 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown against Arkansas State brought Troy all the back, giving the Trojans a lead after trailing 23-3.

Higgins graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies in December. He entered the semester with a 3.50 GPA.

Like Higgins, Chappelle also graduated in December with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. He brought a 3.69 GPA into the semester.

The wide receiver played all 12 games for Troy on special teams. Chappelle saw 207 snaps on the unit, which was the second-most on the team.

Cappi, an offensive lineman for the Trojans, played in 11 out of 12 games. He started at center against Memphis and Iowa and didn’t allow a sack in 108 passing situations.

The Priceville, Alabama native has a 3.60 GPA as a cybersecurity major.

The Trojans will continue to put in work in the classroom and on the field as they head into the spring semester.
