Food Network interviewed BSweet Dessert Boutique for another one of its competition shows, the bakery announced last week.

This was Food Network’s second time reaching out to the owners of the boutique and talking with them.

“When I got the first call, I thought that somebody was pranking me,” said Co-Owner of BSweet Dessert Boutique Jeanna Barnes. “I've been wanting to try to get on one of their shows for probably at least ten years or longer, so it was just super exciting to know that that possibility is there.

“Also, just the exposure of people finding out that I've been interviewed has been amazing.”

After experiencing the interview process for a second time, Barnes said it was almost surreal and a lot of fun talking about the types of bakes that she likes while also meeting the workers of Food Network as she shared her story.

Barnes' husband passed away at 45 years old due to an unexpected stroke at work, 11 weeks after the opening of the boutique back in March 2022. Now, Barnes co-owns the boutique with her eldest son while her youngest does most of the baking, making it a family-owned bakery.

“The good thing is that we're a family,” Barnes said. “We're here together every day.”

In recent news, the boutique added order shipments to its list of offered services. Several sweet items have been shipped all across the country in the past couple of weeks.

“If I make it to a show, being able to say that I’ve been on Food Network will be huge and help with the exposure with our customer base locally and nationally,” Barnes said. “It’ll also spread awareness that we exist over here.

“A lot of people still don't know that we are even in Troy and that there's a bakery here, so that’ll really be good.”
