After watching “Front of The Class,” it is now my ALL-TIME favorite movie. I watched almost half of the movie through clips I had found all over my TikTok “for you” page, so I decided to give in and watch the full movie.
This movie made me so emotional in all aspects; the acting was phenomenal and the roles were so deep.
Within the first minute, I was already crying over how everyone treated the main character, Brad, who has Tourette’s Syndrome. Even though his mom didn’t treat him differently, it amazed me how difficult it was for his dad to even be around Brad without lashing out and trying to make him control his tics.
I found it interesting that the only place Brad's father accepted him was the baseball field due to everyone else being loud as well.
As I watched the main character continuously get rejected by his parents, friends, doctors and strangers it began to pull an emotional tug on my heart.
As the movie progressed, Brad had a horrible time trying to control his Tourettes. After he was diagnosed, his mother put him in a support group. While it made me extremely happy knowing he would have the opportunity to be around others that were like him, it immediately made me sad again to know that both the children and parents were all overwhelmed with their Tourette’s Syndrome.
As Brad got older and matured, it gave me so much joy knowing that he was able to accomplish his dreams of teaching as well as finding his soulmate. It constantly worried me that he would eventually give up. However, with his determination, he eventually shared his story and inspired a principal to hire him.
He continues to work and prove himself, and he eventually becomes the teacher of the year.
I think this is an amazing movie to show to anyone who is thinking about letting their circumstances consume their life. The movie is so inspirational in many ways because it gives the message of rising above your adversities and not allowing it to control your life.
While this is a great movie, it takes you on an emotional roller coaster. I cried so many times while watching. 8/10
