The tournament, hosted by the South Alabama Jaguars, will take place at the Azalea City Golf Course. Troy finished fifth in the event last year after firing a team score 616 over two rounds. Senior Sofia Bjorkman enters her final spring season atop the Sun Belt Conference with a 73.50 scoring average. She has yet to win an event in the 2012-13 season, but has placed in the top-10 in each event thus far (T4th – twice, T6th, T7th). Langley Vannoy sits 10th in the conference with a 76.25 average and will look to improve on a season-best finish of T-10th. Taylor McGraw, Sara Fennvik, Sydney Conrad and Brooke Spinks all enter the spring nearly neck and neck, as they are all within two points of each other. The Trojans finished last fall with one tournament victory, and finished in the top-10 of all four events; Troy’s win came at the JU Courtyard Classic in October where they carded a three round score of 898, a season best. Monday’s tournament will run through Tuesday and will feature 14 teams, four from the Sun Belt: Alabama State, UALR, Eastern Kentucky, Jackson State, Jacksonville State, Louisiana-Monroe, McNeese State, Mobile, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Spring Hill, Troy, UAB and Western Kentucky. Two of the 14 teams enter with a Golfweek.com top-100 ranking, including UALR (No. 87) and Southern Miss (No. 90). The Lady Jaguar Invitational will kick-off the first of six events for the women’s team, as they will take part in three events in March and two in April. A full spring schedule can be found below.
