Here's what you need to know about theme, events
With Homecoming Week approaching quickly, the Troy Homecoming Committee plans for it to be another memorable and exciting week for students.
This year’s theme is “Trojans: The Most Wanted.” The committee wanted the theme to capture the spirit of Troy and what the student body aspires to be as Trojans.
“We got a lot of different ideas and perspectives, and this theme is what we proudly came to as a result of all that,” said Homecoming Committee Co-Director Meagan Ingram, a senior accounting major from Helena, Alabama. “We basically are wanting to push that Troy is an amazing place, and we want to highlight all the things that make it the school we love.
“I am a firm believer that you get out what you put into something, and so I always encourage students to participate in major school events, like Homecoming, to get the best of their time at the amazing Troy University.”
Homecoming week will be from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2. A few of the activities that will take place during that week include dance night, pep rally, chalk the quad, Trojan Madness and skit night.
Along with these events, there will also be the depiction of other themes throughout the week that will incorporate the “Most Wanted” movies, artists and much more to capture the theme overall.
“We want to make it a fun week on campus by combining other departments and organizations that we are partnering with to bring a lot of people together,” said Sadaris Williams, the assistant director of student involvement and leadership. “There will be excitement on campus to support our football team and to look forward to longstanding events that will bring our student population together.”
The theme came about from a culmination of a series of brainstorming sessions among the directors, alumni and everyone involved with the committee.

“Even though we are the best of the best, we have to keep being prepared for anything to come our way as Trojans so we can stay at the top,” said Homecoming Committee Co-Director Qwien Mason, a senior exercise science major from Birmingham, Alabama.
“Students should participate this year because it is a great way to get involved at your university, especially when it is the biggest week of the school year.
“You can make great connections while meeting new people and enjoying yourselves.”
