November 9, 2024, is a date that  will  be etched into Jackson Fields’ player portfolio for the rest of his career -- the day he received his first career Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honor.

Athletes remember specific moments from random games for the rest of their life. Your first career double-double and first player weekly award has the case to be one of those moments.

Fields and the Troy men’s basketball team played in New Orleans, Louisiana, last Saturday with the hopes of keeping their perfect record alive and improving to 2-0. The junior forward led the Trojans with a career-high 15 points and 10 rebounds, notching his first career double-double to power Troy to a 78-61 victory.

This performance helped Fields earn his first career Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week award. The Missouri City, Texas, native has been un-guardable to start the season.

In Troy’s season opener against Toledo in the MAC-SBC Challenge, Fields scored 10 points and shot 5-for-6 from the field to help lead the Trojans to a 10-point victory over the four-time reigning MAC champions.

Fields and the Trojans look to continue their hot start to the season on the road after their matchup against the No. 18 Arkansas Razorbacks by travelling to face the Oregon Ducks on Sunday, Nov. 17 and at the University of West Georgia on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
