The Troy baseball team picked up its first Sun Belt Conference series win of the 2024 season over Spring Break, winning two out of three of their games against ULM.
The Trojans picked up their first conference and series win at Lou St. Amant Field last Friday with catcher Brooks Bryan leading the way for the Trojan offense.
The Opelika, Alabama, native recorded four hits in five at-bats in the first game while also claiming four RBIs. Bryan also notched one run in the dominant victory for the visiting Trojans.
On the defensive end, Bryan committed zero errors and tallied three putouts on four chances and one assist.
Bryan followed his game one performance up with another solid showing against the Warhawks in game two. Despite the Trojans’ 8-4 defeat, Bryan smashed a three-run homer to keep Troy in the game.
With the series tied up 1-1, Bryan put in another excellent performance – more so on the defensive side of the ball – to help clinch the series victory for Troy in a 6-4 triumph.
Although Bryan was unable to tally a single hit in four at-bats, he still managed to record one of the Trojans’ six runs. Bryan was once again perfect on defense, converting five putouts on five chances with zero errors.
Bryan has played his part in the Trojans’ early success in 2024 as they hope to continue stacking wins with conference play starting to heat up.
