The Troy men’s and women’s golf teams had a busy week over spring break with the men participating in the Seminole Intercollegiate and the women participating in the Bama Beach Bash.
The men wrapped up the Seminole Intercollegiate with a total score of 895, which was good enough for a fourth-place tie with Indiana.
Leading the Trojans was Jake Springer, who finished in a tie for 10th place with a score of 221. Brantley Scott and Will McFadden both tied for 14th with a score of 223, making that three Trojans in the top-15.
Troy picked up important head-to-head wins throughout the Seminole Intercollegiate, pushing its overall head-to-head record to 71-28-3.
The women finished up the Bama Beach Bash with a total score of 939, which placed them in 11th.
Elisabeth Preus finished in a tie for 23rd with a total score of 230. Her best day was the last day of the tournament, where she scored a 73. This performance marks the second straight week that Preus has finished as the top placed Trojan.
Both teams have a short break from the course as the men tee off Golfweek Challenge, better known as the AGT Intercollegiate, and the women travel to Georgia to participate in the Georgia State Invitational all on March 27.
