Noah Martens hits a backhand in Troy’s 2025 match against Samford.

After a less than desirable outcome last week against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, the Trojans got back on track in dominant fashion with home sweeps over the Auburn-Montgomery Warhawks on Friday and the West Alabama Tigers, extending their record to 5-0 at home and 5-3 overall.

The Trojans would win their first doubles points of the season in two matches against the Warhawks and would keep that momentum going and win the doubles points against the Tigers.

Troy would win match one 4-2 against AUM but would not concede a single point against UWA winning 4-0.

In match two against both AUM and UWA, Troy would win 7-0.

Hiiro Sakamoto continued his hot streak for the Trojans with a 6-0, 6-3 singles win against the Warhawks and a 6-1, 6-3 singles win against the Tigers. Sakamoto, alongside Luciano Alcocer, would also help Troy pick up the doubles point against the Warhawks with a 6-1 win and against the Tigers with a 6-3 win.

Yeray Andres Pastor and Henrique de Brito also were perfect in doubles for Troy picking up a 6-2 win against AUM and a 6-1 win against UWA.

Pastor, Sakamoto, and de Brito were perfect for the Trojans in singles during the stretch, winning singles points against the Warhawks and the Tigers.

The Trojans will be back in action Saturday against the North Alabama Lions when they look to not only protect their 5-0 home record but also extend a four-match winning streak.

First serve is set for 11 a.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
