Troy’s baseball and softball teams held their annual fan day last Saturday in Trojan Arena prior to the men’s basketball game against rival South Alabama. The event allowed any fans attending the game to get free posters and autographs from both teams.

Fan day started with scrimmages featuring both teams at their respective stadiums at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday morning for free admission.

Both teams expressed their joy in being able to communicate with their fans face-to-face for fan day.

“I just get excited seeing the fans interact with our players, and I know it means a lot for the fans and our girls too,” said Eric Newell, Troy Softball head coach. “Just seeing the interaction and the smiling faces makes it for me.”

Troy Baseball is headed into a season of new heights after earning a number 25 ranking in the 2025 D1 Baseball Preseason Top 25.

Brooks Bryan, a Troy Baseball player and a junior sports management major, shared his thoughts on the upcoming season and making the top 25.

“[Making the top 25] is an awesome honor to show how much hard work we’ve put in and how much respect we have now,” Bryan said. “People are going to have a fun team to watch that’s going to go out and compete every single day.”

Troy Softball is also looking forward to an exciting new season with a mix of new faces and old.

“We’re very athletic going into this season,” Newell said. “We have a lot of new players that are going to play key positions, and we’re going to continue to grow. “When we’ve got a big crowd out there, it certainly helps, so we’re excited to have a big year this year.”

Both teams would like to invite all fans to join them for their opening games next month.

Troy Softball opens their season with the annual Trojan Classic, Feb. 7-12, while Troy Baseball opens the following weekend, Feb. 14-16.

Baseball season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at TroyTrojans.com/tickets. All softball games are free admission for all fans.
