While I realize calling someone a racist is something that should not be taken lightly, the president of the United States, unfortunately, is one.
Omarosa Manigault Newman, former White House aide and longtime friend of President Donald Trump, has released a number of secret recordings from her time in the White House. Now there possibly exists a recording of Trump using racial slurs.
In her new book, “Unhinged,” Omarosa claims Trump used racial slurs on the set of “The Apprentice,” a show that Trump hosted, and she eventually concluded Trump is a racist and a bigot.
In light of these claims, the president took to Twitter to attack Omarosa’s credibility.
“When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out,” Trump said in a tweet. “Good work by General (John) Kelly for quickly firing that dog!”
Trump has proclaimed himself as the least racist person in the past, but what are the American people supposed to think when they see the president of the United States is referring to black women as dogs?
A reporter asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders if she could stand on the podium and guarantee the American people will never hear a recording where Trump used racial slurs. Sanders responded saying she couldn’t guarantee anything.
If such recordings didn’t exist, the president would be able to firmly deny these claims with a clear conscience. However, since Sanders could not deny it, the American people can concludewe soon will hear Trump using racial slurs.
Sadly, Trump’s racist ways did not suddenly start with his presidential campaign.

In 1973, the Justice Department under President Richard Nixon sued the company for violating the Fair Housing Act because it discriminated against black people who applied to rent an apartment from the Trumps.
Four decades later, a lot has changed in America, but Trump still shows racist tendencies.
There has been a lot of racist rhetoric since Trump began his campaign in June 2015. Most recently, Trump attacked NBA star LeBron James after he opened his I Promise School in Akron, Ohio.
During the week of the opening, an interview aired in which CNN anchor Don Lemon interviewed James about the school as well as Trump.
At the end of the interview, James said he wouldn’t sit across from Trump to talk to him, but he would sit across from Barack Obama.

“Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon,” Trump said. “He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do.”
Attacking the intelligence of his critics is a common theme in Trump’s tweets, and this time, he managed to undermine two successful black men.
The last time we heard Trump say despicable things on a leaked recording was the “Access Hollywood” tape in which Trump admitted to sexual harassment of women. This tape was a fork in the road for Republicans where some withdrew support for him, but many stayed.
Trump survived the tape, but I wonder what would happen if we heard a recording of the president using the n-word?
Will that be the last straw for Republicans, or will they continue to give furrowed brows of disappointment?
