Emma Claire Herman
As a third-year English major at Troy University, I have had the unique opportunity to pursue my higher education entirely online.
When I first enrolled, I wasn’t sure what to expect from remote learning. Would I feel disconnected from my professors and peers? Would I have the same meaningful and exciting university experiences as my traditional-learning friends? Now, with several semesters behind me, I can confidently say that Troy University’s online campus has exceeded my expectations in every way.
One of the biggest advantages of online learning is the flexibility it provides.
As a remote learner, I have been able to tailor my schedule to fit my personal life, allowing me to effortlessly balance school with other commitments. Whether I need to work on essays late at night or read my assigned literature early in the morning, I can access my coursework whenever it’s most convenient.
To say that this flexibility is a lifesaver is an understatement, especially during a busy week with responsibilities outside of school.
However, flexibility doesn’t come at the expense of quality.
The online courses at Troy are just as rigorous and informative as any traditional class. The professors are not only knowledgeable, but they are also highly accessible, offering virtual office hours and frequent communication through email and message boards.
In particular, my English professors have always been encouraging, providing thoughtful feedback and helping me refine my storytelling skills so that I can grow creatively and develop a strong writing identity – something that is essential for an aspiring writer, like myself.
OYet, one of the most rewarding aspects of online learning has been the sense of independence I have developed.
While Troy provides ample support, learning remotely has helped me sharpen my time-management skills.
I have not only gained knowledge, but I have also found confidence in my abilities. I have become more disciplined and proactive, skills that I know will also benefit me long after I graduate.
For those considering online education, I wholeheartedly recommend Troy University. Here, online learnersthey are part of a supportive community that fosters both academic and personal growth.
Whether you are a working professional, a parent, or simply someone who thrives in a more independent learning environment, Troy’s online learning program can help you reach your academic goals.
Choosing Troy University’s online campus has been one of the best decisions of my life, and I believe it can be the same for anyone willing to take that step!
