The Troy Trojans’ soccer team ended non-conference play on a four-match unbeaten streak after a 2-2 draw against Jacksonville. Last Thursday’s result was the first draw of the regular season for the Trojans.

Troy found itself down after conceding an early goal to Manuela Restrepo in the 26th minute. The Trojans’ offense battled back, and senior Delaney Wells notched her third goal of the season.

Georgia Mulholland scored the second goal of her career in the 60th minute to put Troy in the lead. However, Olivia Peal found the back of the net for the first time this season to even the game 2-2. Haley Phillips assisted Mulholland’s goal.

The Trojans recorded seven shots on goal out of seven total shots. Their .857 shot on goal percentage was the highest for the program since 2020.

“The conditions made it tough and heavy on the legs, and we played against a team that had two weeks to prepare for us,” head coach Stuart Gore said to Troy Athletics. “We did well to get ourselves back into the game and then to take the lead.

“Three games on the road are tough for any team, and now we have to shift our focus to conference play.”

Troy’s first Sun Belt opponent of the season is ULM. The Warhawks come to the Troy Soccer Complex this Friday, and kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
