In their final regular season meet of the indoor season, Troy track and field impressed, setting 17 new personal bests while picking up four top-five finishes.

The highest finishing Trojan was freshman Haley Wilson who grabbed a third-place finish in the women’s 600m. Her 1:32.5 mark is the second quickest time in Troy’s history, 1.1 seconds off the school record. She shaved a whole second off her time from the previous meet.

That time was only one of two personal bests Wilson set at the meet, as she also set a new personal best in the 800m, a 2:11.82 time, fast enough for fourth in Troy’s history. Two other Trojan runners set multiple bests with Wilson as fellow freshman Lexi Roberts set personal bests in the 600m and 800m while sophomore Imari Johnson set her personal bests in the 200m and 60m dashes.

The group of Arianna Elder, Jasmine Jimenez, Reece Knowlton and Makenna Calbert brought home fifth place for the Trojans in the women’s distance medley to round out Troy’s top-five finishers on the women’s side.

Seven other Trojans picked up personal bests in Nashville, Tennessee, with Vega Kaagstroem and Joy Edward taking home personal bests in high jump and weight throw, respectively. Kaagstroem jumped for a height of 1.55m, tying her personal best, while Edward threw for 16.96m.

Knowlton, Calbert and Elder all set personal bests in the mile as Knowlton leading the way with a time of 5:08.61. Kyra Dalluge joined Wilson and Roberts in setting a personal best in the 600m, as she finished with a time of 1:38.75.

Catherine Forbes also joined Johnson in setting a new personal best in the 200m as Forbes clocked in a 24.51 time, putting her eighth in the school record book.

On the men’s side, it was graduate student Jack Anderson and freshman Dawson Isbell who led the way. Anderson nabbed fifth in the high jump, reaching a height of 1.95m while Isbell reached fifth in the 600m, dashing to a time of 1:30.39.

Last week’s first-place finisher, Altwayne Bedward, set a new personal best and school record of 18.26m in the shot put. With the mark, Bedward now owns three of the top four marks in Trojan history.

Three other Trojans on the men’s side reached personal bests with Tydreke Thomas in the 200m while Michael Eady set a new personal best and fourth best time in school history in the 60m with a time of 6.79.

Joshua Kalozi also set a new personal best with a time of 8.26 in the 60m hurdles, quick enough to put him fifth all-time in the Troy record books, 0.02 seconds in front of sixth.

The Trojans now see a two-week break before returning to the track on Feb. 24 for the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
