Trojans seek their second SBC win at home versus ULM

Following a triple overtime loss at Appalachian State last week, the Troy football team now returns to Veterans Memorial Stadium to take on UL-Monroe.

The Trojans (2-6, 1-3 Sun Belt) will look to build on their steady improvement so far this season, even more so after an impressive outing on the road last week. With this momentum, Troy looks to come home and pick up its second conference win.

The Warhawks (1-7, 0-4 Sun Belt) have also struggled in acquiring wins this season, and will look to claim their first Sun Belt victory.

Freshman quarterback Garrett Smith leads ULM’s offense, and is currently ranked fourth in the league in passing, averaging 219.5 yards per game. Smith will look to build on back-to-back games where he has been productive and put ULM in position to win those games.

Sophomore running back Andre Flakes and senior wide receiver Teddy Ruben will need to continue to bring their best in order to outscore the Warhawk offense. Expect for this contest to be a battle of the quarterbacks, as neither defense will likely have answers for the dual-threat attack of the other offense.

Kickoff in Troy is set for 2:30 p.m.
