UAC puts on a Kahoot! Trivia Night

How much do you know about Troy University? Do you know your Black History Month trivia? Are you caught up on your knowledge of pop culture? Various questions on these topics were asked during Troy University Activities Council’s Kahoot! Trivia Night in Patterson Hall.

Students were given the opportunity to compete against each other in three trivia categories: Troy University, Black History Month and Pop Culture.

“There’s a variety of things to do, like there’s different topics for everyone,” said Carlos Araujo Quintero, a first year master’s economics student from Guatemala. “I learned a lot in pop culture from my friend, Maria, who won that round.

“It’s also a good time to spend with friends.”

Not only did this give students the chance to get out for some friendly competition, it also gave students the opportunity to place in the top-three places for each category to win a prize. Winners got to choose from a waterproof speaker, a waffle maker and a water bottle.

“They had a nice array of things that we can win, so that was nice,” said Jacqueline (???), a senior human services major from Pensacola, Florida. “The UAC holds a lot of events, and they always have a good energy, which makes you feel welcome.”

“People should come to UAC events just to have something to do each week to get away from the stress of school,” said UAC member Julia Parker, a senior hospitality and tourism major from Mobile, Alabama. “

It’ll always be somewhere for students to come and enjoy themselves, somewhere to be every Wednesday night and have something to look forward to.”

The UAC has arranged a Dating Show for Wednesday, Feb. 12.

“It’s kind of silly,” Parker said. “We bring contestants up and host a real live dating show where they’re able to ask questions and meet their match, so it’s a lot of fun.”

As the semester goes by, the events change. Popular events will be occasionally repeated while new ones will spring into action.

For those interested, the UAC also holds committee member meetings every Monday night at 5 p.m. in room 119 of the Trojan Center. Follow the UAC’s Instagram @troyuac to find out more about its upcoming events.
