The Troy women’s golf program saw its season come to a close this past week in Point Clear, Alabama at the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
As a team, the Trojans managed an 11th place finish over Sun Belt rivals South Alabama, who finished in 13th place. Troy shot 55 over par and was 11 strokes behind 10th-placed James Madison.
Senior Bruna Roqueta led the way for the Trojans as she finished tied for 31st place, shooting 10 over par while notching the second-most birdies on the team with eight.
Junior Alyssa Mercado wasn’t too far behind Roqueta, shooting 11 over par as she finished tied for 35th place. The Lake Mary, Florida native led the Trojans with 10 birdies over the three-day competition.
Finishing in 42nd place was freshman Manya Saini, who shot 16 over par, while sophomore Katelynn Altese shot 19 over par to finish tied for 46th place.
Sophomore Laura Fangmeyer finished in 54th place after shooting 25 over par to wrap up the individual standings for the Trojans.
Texas State would go on to win the tournament, shooting three under par as a team and 16 strokes in front of Georgia Southern while ULM were just two shots behind the Eagles.
