This week, the Student Government Association held its first meeting with the newly inducted senators who were placed in committees.
Victoria Killingsworth, a freshman nursing major from Alabaster and new senator-at-large, is excited about the coming year with SGA.
“I just think that being in SGA is good because we get the opportunity to fix what needs to be fixed,”Killingsworth said. “I’m just happy for everything this year has in store. I want to improve the university and make campus life better for every student that goes here.”
SGA president Matt Thompson, a junior accounting major from Montgomery, said that the new senators are great additions to this year’s senate.
“I think that what we want to accomplish is always changing in regards to student behavior and student needs,”Thompson said. “There are some veterans here who are very valuable to us, as well as the new people who have a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm to work and change the school for the better.”
