Men’s tennis comes up short on the road

Wesley Kirchharr Staff Writer The Troy men’s tennis squad came away from a two-match series in Jacksonville, Florida, empty-handed, falling to North Florida and Elon over the weekend. The 0-3 Trojans were handily defeated in Friday’s matchup with North Florida, falling 6-1 in the opening day. The next day’s matches were much closer, but Troy met the same result as the day prior with a 4-3 loss to Elon. Track teams turn in top 5 finishes

Daniel Hunt Staff Writer Troy University’s indoor track and field team completed its daylong meet Sunday for the KMS Invitational in Birmingham. Troy totaled seven events with top-five finishes. The women’s team finished in eighth place out of 16 and totaled 67.5 points. This was the fourth time the Trojans have had to travel to Birmingham to compete at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Wesley Kirchharr Staff Writer The Troy indoor track and field teams finished competition at the Emory Crossplex Invitational on Monday, bringing home a top 10 finish for the women’s squad. The Trojans competed at the Birmingham Crossplex for the second time this year, and earned a combined eighth-place finish after topping in-state rivals Montevallo and North Alabama, as well as Sun Belt foe Georgia Southern. The Trojans were matched up against several Power Five programs including the University of Miami and the University of Alabama. Hakim Montgomery highlighted Troy’s outing at the Birmingham Crossplex by bringing home the top spot in the 60-meter dash.
