This competition marked the final regular season tournament for the Trojans, who now look forward to the four-day Sun Belt Conference Championship in Sandestin, Florida. Daniel Hunt Staff Writer Against the toughest competition it has faced all season, the Troy men’s golf team finished 14th on Monday at the three-day Linger Longer Invitational in Eatonton, Georgia, hosted by Kennesaw State. The tournament featured a plethora of Power Five schools such as Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia and No. 8 Alabama, who went home with the tournament victory. Wesley Kircharr Staff Writer The Troy men’s golf team traveled to Tallahassee over the weekend, bringing home a 10th-place finish from the two-day Seminole Intercollegiate. The host, Florida State, took the top spot after Sunday’s final round of play, narrowly edging second-place Jacksonville after a 287-270-287 performance. The Trojans carded a 299-298-299 performance, good enough to top four teams in the 14-team tournament. Of the 16 teams in play, Florida, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and Arkansas highlighted the invitational as some of the nation’s top talent, with Vanderbilt edging the hosting Gators for the top spot.
